We’ve refreshed our “A Year of Labour” report, bringing it up to date as of 13 February 2026 (covering changes from September 2025 to February 2026).
In broad strokes, this update adds and tightens up coverage on:
- Clean energy delivery: early Great British Energy milestones, new support for local/community energy, the latest renewables auction results, and the push to speed up grid connections.
- Water reform: the government’s direction for how the system is meant to be run and regulated.
- Housing and planning: major renters’ rights changes, planning reform, and the national plan on homelessness.
- Work and enforcement: new workplace rights law, and plans for a new enforcement body.
- Migration and asylum: new legislation and the latest policy direction on returns and removals.
- Justice: sentencing reform.
- Digital rules: clearer standards for digital ID, and Online Safety enforcement moving from theory to practice.
- The “money and rules” backdrop: the Budget, plus the planned carbon border tax (a charge on high‑carbon imports).
